Ashwagandha & Triphala – Signature Botanical Blend (60 Capsules)

£25.00

Ashwagandha + Triphala Blend combines two well-known Ayurvedic herbs in a single daily capsule: Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), traditionally used for stress resilience, and Triphala, a blend of three fruits (Amalaki, Bibhitaki, and Haritaki) traditionally used to support digestive regularity.

Both herbs have a reasonable body of clinical research behind them, more than many botanical supplements, though it's worth being clear about what that research does and doesn't show. Several meta-analyses of randomised controlled trials have found that ashwagandha supplementation is associated with reductions in cortisol levels and in measures of perceived stress and anxiety. Triphala has trial support for improving bowel frequency and stool consistency in adults with functional constipation, alongside an unusually strong safety record across the studies conducted so far, although the trials remain relatively modest in scale.

This is a food supplement, not a medicine. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and it should not replace medical advice or treatment prescribed by your doctor.

If you have a thyroid disorder, an autoimmune condition, or take prescription medication, please speak with your practitioner before starting, since ashwagandha may affect thyroid hormone levels and immune activity.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before you order.

What's actually in this supplement?

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) root extract and Triphala, a traditional Ayurvedic blend of three fruits: Amalaki, Bibhitaki, and Haritaki.

Does ashwagandha actually reduce stress, or is that just traditional use?

There's real clinical research behind this one. Several meta-analyses of randomised controlled trials have found that ashwagandha is associated with reductions in cortisol levels, perceived stress, and anxiety symptoms. That said, most trials have run for around 8 to 12 weeks, so we can't speak to effects beyond that timeframe with the same confidence.

Does triphala actually help with digestion?

There's genuine trial support for this, including improvements in bowel frequency and stool consistency in adults with functional constipation. The trials are still relatively modest in scale compared with what exists for conventional treatments, so we'd describe the evidence as promising rather than fully settled.

How do I take it?

2 capsules daily with water, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner.

I have a thyroid condition or an autoimmune condition. Can I take this?

Please speak with your practitioner before starting. Ashwagandha may affect thyroid hormone levels and immune system activity, so this combination needs individual guidance rather than a blanket yes or no.

Is this suitable during pregnancy?

No, we'd recommend avoiding it unless you're doing so under healthcare guidance. Please speak with your doctor or midwife before taking this or any supplement while pregnant or breastfeeding.

Are there any other safety considerations I should know about?

Ashwagandha is generally well tolerated, but there have been rare reports of liver-related side effects in the medical literature. If you notice symptoms like dark urine, unusual fatigue, or yellowing of the skin or eyes while taking this product, stop use and speak with your doctor. As with any supplement, if you're taking other medications, it's worth checking with your GP or pharmacist first.
